The Carrier Wales MPLS network stretches right across North Wales, bridging the economic technology and industrial areas with Fibre connectivity that provides access across the globe. Our core network is supported at a number of strategically located Points of Presence (PoPs). These act as our switch hubs into which our fibre connections are made.
Our network partner, Fibrespeed, a Welsh Government / European initiative that provided funding to construction a fibre network linking technology and industrial areas across the region from Holyhead to Manchester. This is run through 320km of brand new infrastructure that is dedicated for this purpose. It has no reliance on any BT infrastructure at all to deliver service.
To maximise availability for all our clients across the region we are able to connect at any point along the route. And once their connected, they stay connected. Many of our PoPs are also equipped with masts that allow us to establish wireless networks that extend our reach far beyond the fibre footprint, deep into rural Wales.
In addition we can reach up to 35km further from our fibre core by utilising Openreach EAD services from 10mb to 10gb connections with point to core solution. We provide these directly as we are an established Openreach Communications Provider and have brought clients on-net from the launch of the network.
